We are looking for excellent teachers to join our KIPP Newark team for the 24-25 school year! K-12 teachers interested in teaching in our schools in Newark are invited to attend – this is an incredible opportunity to showcase your skills as a educator and even get an on-the-spot job offer so that you have a new KIPP campus to call home!

What is the salary for a teaching position?

We pay the highest starting salaries for lead teachers in the area! Salaries are calculated based on years of full time teaching experience. A first year lead teacher would be offered $65,000 and the scale increases in $2,000 increments from there.

I don't live in New Jersey, is that okay?

Yes! Many of our teammates live in New York and commute to Newark. We cover the costs of tolls for those who commute from NY to NJ. New Jersey residency is not required for teaching certification in NJ.

Do I have to have a NJ Teaching Certification to be eligible for a job?

No, you do not have to be certified to be hired. However, you do need to be certifiable - which means you have a bachelor's degree and your GPA (undergrad or master's) is at least 2.75. If hire you must get certified within 2 years, and we will help you with that process!

What specific elementary teaching positions do you have open?

We have lead teaching positions open in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. K-2 teachers teach all subjects, and 3rd & 4th grade is departmentalized (math & ELA). We also have elementary special education and enrichment (PE, Art, performing arts etc.) positions open.

What specific middle school teaching positions do you have open?

We have middle school Math, Science, ELA, and History positions open, as well as special education positions and enrichment positions (PE, art, performing arts, financial literacy, etc.). Some of our open roles are at our growing middle school which is an exciting opportunity for leadership.

What specific high school teaching positions do you have open?

In the STEM world we have Physics, Algebra, and Geometry positions. We also have ELA, History, Spanish, and a few College & Career Readiness roles. We have some special education roles, as well as a few Enrichment positions.

What is a Teacher in Residence (TiR) Position? What is the compensation?

A TiR position is designed to support aspiring educators become strong lead teachers. You'll receive coaching and support and co-teach with an experienced teacher. We'll pay for you to attend Relay Graduate School of Education. The starting salary for a TiR is $50,000
